The European Institute of the Mediterranean and the Anna Lindh Foundation has announced the call for entries to the 2012 Sea of Words short story/narrative contest for young writers.

Eligible young writers must come from countries with networks belonging to the Alexandria-based Anna Lindh Foundation for Dialog between Cultures, which is a “network of networks” to promote understanding across the Mediterranean. (MET belongs to the Spanish ALF network.) Entries can come in any local language of a member country and will be translated to English or French by the writer’s local-country network for consideration by the judges.

For information on entry requirements, procedures, prizes, etc., go to the Sea of Words presentation page.

Deadline for submissions: 30 June 2012

Good luck if you decide to participate!

(I received this announcement from MET (Mediterranean Editors and Translators) an independent, non-profit association that brings together people who provide language support for international communication in English within the Mediterranean area and beyond. )
